This widget is for anyone that wants accurate but extremly low cost tide predictions on their website.
It is powered by WorldTides.info which provides licenced tide predictions all over the world at consumer level prices.
WorldTides.info is the leading supplier of tide predictions for worldwide via an API.

API Key

You can an API Key from worldtides.info and get one month (100 credits) for free to try this widget out.
This widget is optimized so it only takes 2 credits per prediction for 1 or 7 day predictions. So, use your free 100 credits wisely because you will only get 50 predictions.
Afterwards, you can pay $10 for 10,000 credits (5,000 predictions). The cost of credits are reduced the more you use.

WorldTides Widget Features
* Automatically finds the closest tide station from a latitude/longitude you enter.
* Allows you to specify the timezone for the graph. Usually you should choose the timezone of the station.
* Daylight Saving Time is honored on the graph.
* AM/PM and 24-hour time mode
* Three Graph heights available or you can turn it off.
* Choose between 1 and 7 days of high/low tide predictions.
* Turn on/off the fine grid for the graph.
* Set background color

Tide icons

The icons used in this app are specially designed to be used for the WorldTides service only. They show 1 to 5 lines based on the relative height of the tide.

1 to 7 Day predictions

You can choose between 1 and 7 days for the prediction. There is no cost difference between these options.

Placement in content or sidebar

The WorldTides widget can be placed in a sidebar or footer. You can also use a shortcode to place the widget in an article.

Any location worldwide

There are thousands of costal stations worldwide. When those are not available, satellite technology is used instead. The only place you cannot get a tide prediction is over land or along rivers that are too far from the coast.

Units

Tide hights can be displayed in feet or meters. Time format can be set to 24 hour mode or AM/PM.

You can use as many widgets on a page as you like.

From within your Admin panel

  1. Visit “Plugins > Add New”
  2. Search for “Worldtides Widget”
  3. Activate the “Worldtides Widget” through the “Plugins” menu in Admin Panel

or Manually

  1. Download the “worldtides” zip (from https://wordpress.org/plugins/worldtides/) and unzip
  2. Upload the “worldtides” folder to the “/wp-content/plugins/” directory using FTP client
  3. Activate the “Worldtides Widget” through the “Plugins” menu in Admin Panel

Activating

  1. Go to “Appearance > Widgets” in Admin panel
  2. Under “Available widgets” section, find “Worldtides Widget” and “Add Widget”
  3. Create an account at worldtides.info and get your API Key from the Settings page.
  4. You can also get the Latitude/Longitude from the home page.
  5. Enter in your API Key and other settings under the Widget settings area.

Shortcode

To add this widget on a page, just add a short code with attributes matching the fields in the widget editor. For example:

(of course, replace the key with the one you get at worldtides.info)

Here are the names of the attributes and values you can use:

key - API Key
latitude - Latitude (ex. 33.1)
longitude - Longitude (ex. -118.1)
timezone - (e.g. "America/Los_Angeles")
units - "meters" or "feet"
days - 1 to 7
timemode - "hour24" or "ampm"
graphmode - "none", "short", "medium", "tall"
finegrid - "yes", "no"
bgcolor - any CSS color (e.g. "#FFFFFF", "red", "rgba(255,255,255,64)", etc...)
